What does a PDF with fields on it look like?

Do recipients need an account?

No. They open the link, fill in the fields, and submit. No sign-up, no app install.

What happens to the original PDF layout?

It stays exactly the same. Answers are placed into your PDF at the positions you marked — the output looks like the original document, filled in.

Where are my forms saved?

On our servers, for as long as you want them — nothing expires. This browser remembers which are yours; on a new device, or after a while away, an emailed sign-in link brings them all back.

Who can see the responses?

Only you. Submissions open from the browser that built the form, or from an emailed sign-in link. Your share link ends in a random code nobody can guess — anyone you send it to can fill the form in, but nobody can browse to it by guessing, and no one filling it in ever sees anyone else's answers.

What if my PDF already has fillable fields?

It still works — and it is often still worth putting online, because recipients need the right PDF software to use built-in fields and most phones handle them badly. Not sure which kind you have? Check your PDF in seconds .
